President
Jaspreet Kaur earned her board-certified behavioral analyst certification from Maxim Healthcare in 2020 and subsequently served as a behavioral therapist with the Glendale School District, CA. In her role, Jaspreet provided services to children with autism. She’s been a part of various humanitarian and disaster relief projects with different non-profit organizations. She’s also an avid supporter of civil rights and social justice campaigns and events in her community.
Secretary & Treasurer
Ruhan Kainth is a retired California science educator, licensed real estate broker, community activist, and environmental advocate. During her 37-year career with the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, she specialized in student mentorship and curriculum development. She also served as a leader in the TANLA Teachers Association, advocating for educators and supporting their professional growth. A licensed real estate broker since 1980, she has dedicated decades to grassroots organizing within Southern California’s Sikh diaspora communities and remains active in local rare fruit growers’ and beekeepers’ associations.

Gurpreet Kaur is the founder and executive director of the Disaster Readiness & Training Alliance, formerly known as the Kaur Institute of Disaster Studies.
Advisory Board Member
Patricia A. Black RN, MN, Ed.D. has a rich background in nursing and education, with degrees from the University of Washington and Seattle University. Her career spans almost 40 years, focusing on gerontology and various aspects of nursing. Patricia’s community service includes board roles for emergency services, aging councils, and hospice care, reflecting her commitment to serving the elderly and vulnerable populations.

Satnam Singh has been a disaster response volunteer since 2012, assisting victims of various disasters and public health emergencies, including the 2017 Northern California wildfires and the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also supported educational programs in his community and actively serves underserved and marginalized groups.

Dr. Manjuladevi E. is a distinguished pediatric surgeon with over two decades of experience in the field of pediatric healthcare. She is known for her expertise in complex surgical procedures for children and her compassionate approach to patient care. Dr. Manjuladevi has made significant contributions to pediatric surgery, earning her a reputation as one of the leading specialists in her field.
